Cabo

Brack, Dad, and I went to Cabo in March for a wedding and had a great time!  We stayed at the Hilton and it was absolutely beautiful.

New York Girls' Trip

I finally have the pictures ready for my blog post on my girls' New York trip from last month.  Mom and I hit the Big Apple for two nights, specifically to see Idina Menzel in If/Then, but also for some fun food and shopping time.

Our first night we hit up Restaurant Row for thai food.  Super yum.

Times Square:

I'm excited about being near the NYPD here due to my recent "Castle" obsession:

Here I am trying not to be embarrassed having my picture taken in front of the Dash store:

Our first show of the day was The Realistic Joneses, which was pretty quirky.  The acting was very good and starred Toni Collette, Michael C. Hall and Marisa Tomei.

We had dinner at my favorite place in New York, Blue Fin.

Our evening show was If/Then, which was really good.  After the show, I convinced my mom to stand and wait at the stage door (in the rain for an hour) for the actors to come out.  What a trooper.

The weather was hit or miss, but we still managed to do everything we wanted.  On a boat ride on our last morning, you could see the Statue of Liberty.

We visited the 9/11 Memorial, which I hadn't seen since it was still completely empty.  It was really well done and incredibly moving.

Mother's Day 2014

Getting the kids to pose for pictures is always an interesting experience and this was the best we were able to do on Mother's Day morning:

We went to brunch at Virginia County Club and they had some kids' activities set up, including go-carts and a bounce house slide.

Easter in Alabama

We spent Easter week in Alabama visiting Grandmom and Grandad.  The kids loved opening their Easter baskets in the morning.

We took some family pictures before church:

We went to the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball game one night and the kids enjoyed their first baseball experience.

The zoo was a hit and the kids especially got a kick out of the animal faces with which they could pose:

Tanaka Farms

Because we participate in a community supported agriculture program, getting a box of fruits and vegetables each week, we were able to go tour Tanaka Farms in Irvine and pick some vegetables with the kids.  We had a great day.

Here they are picking some cilantro:

The scarecrows were a hit with the kids too:
