Bull Riding

We went out with Erin and Braden on Saturday night to Ketchup, and could not resist going to Saddle Ranch Chop House afterward. The video tells it all.

Brack loves laundry

This is what happens when you wait two weeks to do laundry:

Lani's 80th Birthday

Last weekend was my grandmother's 80th birthday party, and the whole side of the family got together at Virginia Country Club. Here is Lani enjoying her sundae!

The "big kids" had their own table (Brack, Jenn, Erin, Braden, Lesley, Sofia, and Hector).

Since we are rarely all together, it was awesome to take a giant "cousins" picture (Lauren, Katie, John, Mark, Lesley, Sofia, Hector, Braden, Jennifer, Erin, Katherine, Ryan, Steven, Jenn, Brack).

The fabulous foursome:

Dodgers v. Cubs

Since Brack grew up in the Chicago area, his favorite baseball team is the Cubs. This weekend, they played the Dodgers, and we were lucky enough to be able to go to both Saturday and Sunday's game. The Cubs came up a little short on Saturday, but tonight, they were more successful and won 3-1. We went with Erin and Braden and had a great time!

Santa Ynez weekend

This weekend we were able to get away for two days to Santa Ynez, which is a little north of Santa Barbara. It's just over two hours from L.A., so it was a perfect overnight trip! This is the area where the movie "Sideways" was filmed and took place, and we recently saw the movie, so we were pretty excited to see all of the sights. Here are some of the highlights:

We hit some of the wineries on Saturday. This is me at Foxen, which doesn't look like much, but was probably the best we had all weekend!
Brack and I played a game of chess at Zaca Mesa. We called it a day before the game was actually over though, so that no one would have to be the loser!
The scenery was just amazing and we couldn't believe we were only two hours from Los Angeles!

We stayed at the "Windmill" where Miles and Jack stayed in "Sideways."
We ate breakfast at "Paula's Pancake House" in Solvang, the Dutch Capital of America.

Before we headed home, we checked out Mission Santa Ines.

Introduction to Blogging

So we have decided to start a blog. It will be a great way to look back on the things we have done, and also an excellent way for our family and friends who are not in California to keep in touch (and keep tabs on!) what we are doing here in Los Angeles. Hope you enjoy, and we will have details and pictures up soon from our weekend trip to Santa Ynez.
